Project Overview:Yangtze River to Huaihe River Diversion Project
As a national key water conservancy project, the Yangtze River to Huaihe River Diversion Project is a large-scale inter-basin water diversion project with the main tasks of urban and rural water supply and the development of Yangtze-Huaihe River shipping, combined with irrigation and water replenishment and the improvement of the ecological environment of Chaohu Lake and Huaihe River. From south to north, it is divided into three sections: Yangtze River to Chaohu, Yangtze-Huaihe River communication, and Yangtze River water northward transmission. The total length of the water transmission line is 723 kilometers, including 88.7 kilometers of new canals, 311.6 kilometers of existing rivers and lakes, 215.6 kilometers of dredging and expansion, and 107.1 kilometers of pressure pipelines.
In the first phase of the project, Liancheng Group has provided large double-suction pumps and axial flow pumps for multiple sections of the Yangtze River to Huaihe River Diversion Project. This project belongs to the second phase of the Yangtze River to Huaihe River Diversion Project. It is based on the first phase of the Yangtze River to Huaihe River Diversion Project, focusing on urban and rural water supply, combined with irrigation and water replenishment, to create conditions for the region to respond to water supply safety risks and improve the ecological environment. It is divided into two major sections: water transmission trunk line and backbone water supply. The main pump type of the winning project is a double-suction pump, which provides water pump units and hydraulic mechanical auxiliary system equipment for Tongcheng Sanshui Plant, Daguantang and Wushui Plant water supply projects, and Wanglou Station. According to the supply requirements, 3 double-suction pumps for Tongcheng Sanshui Plant are the first batch of supplies, and the rest will be supplied gradually according to requirements.

Excellent Noise and Vibration
Liancheng Group has always provided high-quality products and efficient solutions for the Yangtze River to Huaihe River Diversion Project. This project has very strict requirements on the technical indicators of each project of the water pump unit. Customers pay more attention to the noise value, and will not accept it if it does not reach 85 decibels. For the water pump unit, the noise of the motor is generally greater than that of the water pump. Therefore, in this project, the motor manufacturer is required to adopt a noise reduction design for the high-voltage motor, and it is necessary to carry out a load noise measurement test at the motor factory. After the motor noise is qualified, it will be sent to the pump factory.
Liancheng has designed stable units that exceed expectations for many projects, especially in terms of vibration and noise values of water pumps. The 500S67 of Tongcheng Sanshui Plant has a 4-level speed. Liancheng Group organized project team members and engineering teams to hold a meeting to discuss how to reduce the noise of the water pump, and formed a unified opinion and plan. In the end, all indicators of the vibration and noise values of the water pump met the requirements and reached the international advanced level. High-efficiency and energy-saving hydraulic design
In terms of hydraulic design, the R&D personnel selected excellent hydraulic models for the first design and used the 3D software Solidworks for modeling. Through reasonable model drawing methods, the smoothness and smoothness of the flow channel surfaces of complex models such as the suction chamber and the pressure chamber were ensured, and the consistency of the 3D and 2D used by CFD was ensured, thereby minimizing the design error in the early R&D stage.
During the R&D stage, the cavitation performance of the water pump was checked, and the performance of each operating point required by the contract was checked using CFD software. At the same time, by improving the geometric parameters such as the impeller, volute and area ratio, the efficiency of the water pump at each operating point was gradually improved, so that the water pump has the characteristics of high efficiency, wide range and high efficiency and energy saving. The final test results show that all indicators have reached the international advanced level.
Reliable and stable structure
In this project, the core components such as the pump body, impeller, and pump shaft were all subjected to strength verification calculations using the finite element method to ensure that the stress in each part does not exceed the allowable stress of the material. This provides a guarantee for the safe, reliable, and durable quality of the water pump.
Initial results
For this project, Liancheng Group has strictly controlled the mold manufacturing, blank inspection, material inspection and heat treatment of the water pump from the beginning of the project, rough and fine processing, grinding, assembly, testing and other details.
On August 26, 2024, the customer went to Liancheng Group Suzhou Industrial Park to witness the performance index tests of the 500S67 water pump of Tongcheng Sanshui Plant. Specific tests include water pressure test, rotor dynamic balance, cavitation test, performance test, bearing temperature rise, noise test, and vibration test.
The final acceptance meeting of the project was held on August 28. At this meeting, the performance indicators of the water pump and the efforts made by Liancheng people were highly recognized by the construction unit and Party A.
